Domain names are the way that the internet lets you use names to access websites and send email without having to remember a long list of numbers. Your domain name, for example Perfio.com, when entered into your computer is then translated into a number that is the actual address of your web site or email system.
Upon registering your name, you own the name in some sense, but only to the point where you stop paying the fees required to maintain the registry entries. You surrender your ownership once you stop paying those fees. Among those fees are annual renewal fees and domain name administrative fees.
Manually invoiced registrations and renewals are $2 more. Expired domain names will incur a $25 reactivation fee in addition to the renewal fee. Regaining control of domain names which have been placed by the registry into the post-expiration redemption status will incur a $250 fee plus the renewal fee.
